  1. ” that was the one thing i didn’t like – but I didn’t want to be negative” – then what are you doing on Brownstoner if you don’t want to be negative?

  2. Gemini, no I never ate those. I was a greedy little monster and my mother hardly gave me any spending money, so my good friend who had plenty of dough, to enjoy the pleasure of my company, used to treat me every day at the soda fountain to the same thing: a Drakes cherry pie and a cherry coke. I forgot what she used to eat but something equally disgusting. Recently I saw one in a bodega and bought it, thinking I might have a Proustian moment remembering my childhood, but I almost went into a diabetic coma from the sugar. oh my gawd.

Yeah, lesbiman, I am glad that I helped with your conversion experience. I was so heartened to hear that about Sarah too.

  3. okay M4L, I just read the scope.
They DID underpin the cellar. They also did structural work (replacing the columns and the beam). They also moved all the mechanicals to one side. They did plumbing work by adding a half bath and laundry room. Radiant heating in the floors.

That’s the bulk of the cost. Not sure how much tho.
They didn’t re-frame the stair opening, so that didn’t add cost there.

  4. By the way, Joe from Brooklyn didn’t mention that Sarah Palin only got 7% in the CPAC strawpoll. What next for Sarah? Even the conservatives don’t want her.

Thanks for sharing that. As an agnostic, I now know there is a god. Or at least the proof of some collective human intellect.

  5. donatella:
do you remember the Drakes or Hostess’ “Pudding Pies” that had the same pie shell as the cherry/blueberry pies but had vanilla or chocolate pudding inside
wow – those were good. talking mid to late 80’s

  6. Oh, Willow Street is so pretty, re apartment for sale on Willow – don’t know that building, but have walked past it many times, so quiet and lovely over there, a block from the promenade and right near the 2/3 clark st station.

  7. M4L, I never did a ‘cellar’ reno like that >>>>>>
Honesly, I didn’t read what they did in detail, just scanned it. If they underpinned the cellar, the cost is high!

I’ll go back and read it.
But what difference does it make what I say, you’ll muck it up by putting in some ugly cheap stuff 🙂
