benson,
there’s a third route to Ft. Tildon,
there’s a ferry that goes back and forth 3 times a
day from Battery Park.
In the summer, it’s an excellent trip on sea and
land.

Rob but but but you hate Park Slope too. Maybe it should be a Benson AND Rob intervention?
i most definitely do NOT hate park slope. it’s the nicest neighborhood i have ever lived in my entire life. yeah i dont like the frou frou lame boutiques and stuff, but i do not hate the neighborhood in general.
CGar, yes, we went on the Staten Island Ferry with the Champs last summer. Definitely a fun and inexpensive outing for the kids. And to give you an idea of their walking abilities, we walked back from the Ferry at the tip of Manhattan to our home in BH after the ride, which was impressive for two little kids. They’re gamers!
“Rob, you’re right. I’ve changed plans and decided to bring the Champs to a late night rave where X will be readily available and then wander aimlessly through Brownsville in the middle of the night with a wad of Ben Franklins hanging out of my back pocket. That’ll teach those spoiled, self-entitled little rugrats. ”
I’m also very interested in City Island and we’ve been talking about going there for some time.
ExTex also gave me a ton of info on Riverdale in the Bronx. She even mapped out a route for which to take a walking tour, complete with notable homes to see along the way, and I’m hoping to do that some day soon as well.
Biff, aside from the trains, have you ever taken the Champs on the Staten Island ferry? That’s a fun trip in nice weather, and then you could take them to Historic Richmond Town:
Raves still exist?
