  1. It’s tradition, mostly on the South Side, to place a lawn chair or orange cone to save your parking space. And nobody bothers it either!

I’m back folks. The whipping wind has knocked out my satelite reception so no Judge Judy for me 🙁

  2. I’m inside playing with my prostate.

I did NOT expect that to be posted by Biff. I was sure as I read it Dave’s name was going to be attached.

  3. It’s completely true in relation to the parts of Pittsburgh, Rob. I have relatives there. The inner areas mostly consist of small houses without driveways or garages, but most people have cars. It’s very common to see chairs in the street to save parking spots.
I have heard anecdotally of the same thing in Baltimore. Never heard of it in NYC but it probably used to happen.

  4. I’m so jealous Legion is in Vegas. I saw the Aria before it was fully completed and it’s really nice.

Kens- Speaking of the Riviera, my husband plays pool and their are big tournaments held at the Rivera. Now during the peak of the tournies you never know what time your next match will be because it’s based upon who wins. So you may end up playing a few matches back to back starting at 8:00 a.m. and then have nothing until 7:00 p.m. the next day so those few days you need to stay at the Riviera. Once the schedules level out we always hop over to another hotel. This last time though we were pleasantly surprised to find out that they have fully renovated The Monaco Towers. You can get a really decent room in that Tower for as little as $40- a night (but only THAT specific tower) the others are still old school kitch. It’s just good to know if you ever want to do a quick trip on the cheap. See:

Text you like The Wynn? I gotta say dollars to doughnuts that is not a hotel I enjoy. I just don’t like the style of it and for the price I think you can do much better at other hotels. I haven’t been in the Encore at Wynn yet but I hear it’s a similar experience. I do like The Bellagio and Venetian but my all time favorite which isn’t on the strip but just perfection The Red Rock. I’d also REALLY want to check out the Skylofts at MGM Grand. Those are supposedly spectacular.

  5. how come this doesnt happen in brooklyn? or does it?

Hello friends, just wanted to touch base with you on a subject that is heating up on the Pittsburgh boards. In the city of Pittsburgh, those who have to park on the city streets will place a chair or some other ridiculous object to save their spot when they leave. Those who support this feel if they spent hours shovelling snow off of the spot that they have rights to it. I think it’s ridiculous, there are certain facts you have to face when parking on the street.

So does this happen in Chicago? If so, do residents respect this?
