Snappy I hate paper shredding. I miss when I was working in an office with one of those MASSIVE shredders. I could toss in a whole pile at a time and it’d chew through it like nothing. I’d always bring my paper shredding to work with me. Now I’m 5 pages at a time and it irks me to no end. The other thing that makes me want to go completely postal are those companies that attached the fake plastic credit card or insurance cards to the junk mail with your name on them?!?! ARGH! I would NEVER do business with one of them no matter how good the rate. I nearly broke my little shredder with those.
Satellite internet service is HIDEOUSLY EXPENSIVE. Like $100 per month…RIDICULOUS! I pay $29.95 per month to TWC for the internet. But, for tv, the satellite is much cheaper…my package with DirecTV is $20+ cheaper than the equivalent cable package. It pays to split them.
Oy…my mother is at me again so I need some more suggestions. They’ve got one of those electric fireplaces in the living room and she wants to get electric logs that actually put out heat. I found some online that are electric, but just do the glow and crackle thing but no heat provided. The ones that put out heat are like $200 and up. Any ideas on where to find that cheaper, or is $200 the standard price? (Bless her heart, she’s distracting herself with retail therapy.)
Yeah, my satellite only goes out about once or twice a year, and it takes really really heavy winds to do it. I’ve noticed that cable ads have stopped trying to scare people with the idea that satellite fails all the time because that just isn’t true anymore.
Arkady, the satellite will come back up on its own once the wind dies down. My internet is through Time Warner though. The only thing that knocks that out is torrential rain.
