The pick-up snow shovelers in my nabe are a bunch of wimps too. They only shovel light snow that falls on Saturday morning. My tenants are probably hanging for their lives to the railings because all my energy this morning went to deciding whether or not to stay home and use “gotomypc”.
HA HA, how true. I got a pair of beautiful Born boots with gorgeous shearling which sticks out of the top and near the tounge of the boot and while they may be great on the Mongolian steppes, they suck on the subway. I almost fell down the stairs – the tiles were slick and greasy. Urban winter skills are different than in the Canadian north. We ain’t no Montes.
It is spectacular out there. Just walked CDog to Cobble Hill Park; the trees on Congress form an arch over the street, and they look so beautiful covered in snow. This really could be a good storm. Shovelers can’t get ahead of it, and this is nothing yet; no sooner do they finish a section of sidewalk, but it’s covered again.
(Please, nobody tell Pete, but, while I was out, I stole the broom and shovel from under his stoop. I would’ve bought my own, but that big bully Dave shook me down (not in a good way; no homo) and took my money.)
I feel bad that some of you are at work today. I wasn’t planning to go back until tomorrow anyways – finally feeling almost all better now – but my firm sent a “use your discretion” email, and the head of my group told everyone to work remotely.
CGar…is etson out of town now and supposed to fly back today??? That certainly isn’t happening.
MM, you and bxgrl planning on joining us tomorrow? Wanted to chat with you about career related stuff.
Denton, are you coming to etson’s bon voyage party at Brooklyn Social tomorrow? And speaking of, has anyone spotted the pasty Brit yet?

“then the nice side of me came out”
ROFL! I just spit coffee all over my keyboard!
I didn’t see any of you losers on the Brooklyn Bridge this morning! Pathetic. Especially you Biff since they let you wear jeans.
“You losers call this a snowstorm?”
