  1. I grew up in upstate NY, we had an ever replenishing 3 feet of snow on the ground from Thanksgiving to around April 1st. It was great, as a kid. The school system allotted 9 snow days a year, which were made up at the end of the year if used. The average was usually about 4 snow days used, and those were for really bad 3′ blizzards. I remember a couple of them fondly. My brother and I had a killer sled run, and we used to spend all day outside.
