so you would only need 10K for a deposit on one of those? can the 8K welfare that the government is giving to first time home buyers go towards that?

  2. ty, I told ya you should look into my building and it’s in our hood. Most co-ops on ocean pkwy have studios in 100-150s range, one bedroom in 150-220 range and 2 bedrooms in 220-300 range. This is all for decent size apartment with reasonable maintenance.

The fact that I get tax deductions also had a factor in buying the place since it was money that I was giving to the gov’t and now I am pocketing. I am always shocked at how many people do not realize that.

  3. It’s now official: In 2009 the number of unionized workers who work for the government surpassed those in the private economy for the first time. This milestone explains a lot about modern American politics, in particular the paradox that union clout with Democrats has increased even as fewer workers belong to unions overall.

The Bureau of Labor Statistics reported recently that 51.4% of America’s 15.4 million union members, or about 7.91 million workers, were employed by the government in 2009. As recently as 1980, there were more than twice as many private as public union members.

If you’re looking for work head to DC.

really? did you do a comparison vs itemized approach before you settled on standard deduction?

  5. the only thing i would do is possibly marrying a rich immigrant who needs a greencard for money. but how does one even get into that or find such an arragement? (im being serious btw)

and i dont think that should be a crime. how is it ANY different than regular people who get married? all the legal documented golddiggers in this country? how is an undocumented golddigger any different? wait, no i guess id be the golddigger and the person would just get a greencard?
