When they took away the tax basis deduction formula for capital improvement as a factor in resale it sent me into the doldrums.

Tybur6, in NYC standards, anyone taking the standard deduction are either retired and/or poor (albeit not poverty level)
they should be taxed out the wazoo for that “wealth transfer”
