  1. denton,

true, I know several people who have climbed up the property ladder with that capital gains exclusion(250/500K).
I really hope the government doesn’t mess with that tax code provision.

  2. Actually, imo, the inheritance tax (cutely re-named by the right to ‘death tax’) should be northwards of 90%.

If the right actually agrees that America is a meritocracy, let’s prove it and have everyone start with zip. Or as close to it as skin color and other advantages allow.

  3. no thank you. gay men bring too much drama and problems. and women arent much better in that respect either.

Trust me, the younger ones bring far more drama than the older ones.

Nothing worse than a young twink saying “OMG!!!” all the time.

  4. Etson — that’s why I’m going to ignore the over-$2 million properties. They are for rich folks. I know $125,000 is a “mismatch” for a $3 million house. That was my point!

$125,000 is a VERY healthy income for most. However, this income level is useless for a huge portion of NYC real estate… even apartments, to be frank.

Rob — I have no wifey, nor a gay husband. I agree with you. Most (see, I’ve tempered myself) properties (for sale or for rent!) are geared towards couples and roommates in this city…. or rich folks.
