  1. A friend just wrote me with the following dilemma. What would you do?

I have this colleague who I regularly go out to lunch with and she’s a great girl. However, since I handle a lot of my boss’ (the president) personal emails and stuff, I found out that my colleague will be getting fired. Now the dilemma is that my colleague had asked me early on to let her know if I had gotten wind of anything about her getting fired or any trouble brewing for her. Now I’m kinda stuck in a battle of ethics. Do you think I should tell my colleague? Or should I just shut my mouth and think of my own a** in case my boss finds out I let something drop?

  2. M4L,

you may be right about 25%. adamdahill would know for sure.
we’ll have to him to chime in on the commercial loan market.
    here’s my quick math;

    800K 4 family

    mortgage/tax/insurance of around 4,000/month.

    rental income of 3,600/month (1,200X3)

    owner paying 400/month + 300 expenses = 700per month,

mortgage interest deduction plus depreciation plus special allowance deduction if you are making less than 100K leaves you paying nothing in a Brooklyn neighborhood with great potential at a young age.

  3. “”Look for the Union Label” is quite a catchy tune, though it seems these people all have too much on their hands to be sitting around and singing.”

I’d be happy to see a Made in USA label.

  4. quote:
rob, my brazilian friend paid someone 15K to get married to an american girl so that he could stay in nyc with his boyfriend. We all particpated in the fraud with party pictures.

so this really does happen.. i knew it did. do you have to prove that youve had sex with this person? 15K both sounds like a ton of money to me but at the same time it doesnt sound like much at all.

but the whole thing is probably way too complicated for me to handle, i cant even figure out my own basic taxes, international marriage fraud would probably be way too over my head.

    *rob*

  5. Morning, all. I’m very happy to say that today is the CDog’s 15th Birthday, not bad for a dog with a life expectancy of 12. Don’t tell Randy, but for her birthday breakfast, she had a big plate of bacon, eggs and cheese, which she happily scarfed down.

(Now she’s downstairs watching CNN again, and, for a change, they’re carrying Obama talking live. Blah blah blah blah blah. God I hope I’m well enough to go back into the office tomorrow.)

  6. wow, deLepp- and we’re complaining about unions?

Pete’s correct- union clout is on the wane, and another point- management may be mostly democrat, but the rank and file is not. Nearly everyone I’ve met is or was a fervid republican. You shold have heard those guys when Bush was in office. He could do no wrong. Not that it stopped them from enjoying the benefits negotiated for them by their Democratic management.
