Interesting, c’hiller. Have heard other women say some of those things as well.
Guess it’s a different experience being a male employee with a female boss vs being a female employee with a female boss. Totally obvious perhaps, but something we didn’t touch on before.
Legion and Jessi, I agree. There is no room for entitlement and believe me I also become pissed off when that happens. But from my experience I tend to see this sense of entitlement coming from people who just graduated from a top b-school but have no work experience and expect to be treated a certain way and not from expectant/new mothers.
That said, yes women do have some tough decisions with respect to the work/life balance and they should know this before embarking on any career. But it has been done and it’s not impossible. The reality of the situation is that an employer can only stretch so far before it doesn’t make economical sense for them anymore.
LOL, Kens. Not sure, but they do go in for Jews, so that’s a start.

SCORE!
DH, in case you are interested, Biff just made a quick call to his Mohel. For a “small” donation, you’re all set up for Wednesday morning circumcision and proper conversion ceremony (Cobble would know all about that). Bagel, lox, and Manichewitz will be served.
…truthful advice that I would give any young lady.
You will have to make a choice in life that men won’t. It is unfair but goes with being a woman; and that is, if you want to have your own biological children, keep in mind that some men and some jobs will take your time for many years at the expense of the child. Many women learn this the hard way and end up playing catch- up. Men being men, can always have a child late in life if they feel they missed something.
For 30 years of my life I’ve worked for women. Recently, I’ve been telling people that I do not want to work for a woman again. And I’ll tell you why.
All of these scenarios happened to me.
If a woman boss feels you are not paying them enough emotional attention or being their ‘best friend’, they might feel it necessary to have HR come talk with both of you to find out why. Like you’re all in 3rd grade.
If you do not share your personal life with your very gossipy judgmental boss, it will be considered an affront rather than self-protective or professional! You may be called to HR to “make sure everything is ok”. [Hint: Smile and say yes a lot.]
If your woman boss very suddenly is told that she cannot take a vacation by her boss, and you have one scheduled and booked. She will let you go on yours, but make your life miserable out of resentment right up to the very friday night before you leave and she’ll make up BS reasons for you to stay til 9 pm, too. Just to be a b*tch, because she can!
If you’re in a happy bouncy joyful f*cking love relationship and boss lady is in a miserable f*ckless marriage, you’re in trouble! I don’t think I have to explain this one.
jeez kens – that sounds painful

Rob – In China, India, Africa many people still don’t have t.p. or sanitary products.

but get the RIGHT one pregnant and you got yourself a nice sweet cheap pad in the projects!
and omg “People in the Middle Ages didn’t have toilet paper. Instead, they used lace, wool, hay, leaves, and even seashells.”
