  1. Yes, I think so legion. And yes, I’ve had to deal with backstabbing, insubordination, undermining and pettiness from other women who worked for me, only a couple of times from men. It’s made me very bitter/angry…does it show? LOL!

  2. “Rob – In China, India, Africa many people still don’t have t.p. or sanitary products.”

In the place where I lived, people used corn cobs (once they ate the corn off). Strange!

  3. That said, [Thank you just the same, DH] I have also been on the other side of the coin. As a boss of women. And that is TOUGH.

I like working with men. They’re much more straight forward in work relationships. They want the work to get done. They generally don’t bring so much emotion into the work place.

I’ve also had great women bosses, my very last boss was an angel. There was no BS, she outlined my work responsibilities clearly. We were close, but in a distinctly professional manner. Except for once when I had a biopsy, and she gave me great contacts at Sloan Kettering. She was a mentor, and excellent at her job. I’d work for her again in a heartbeat.

Just a shame that the others I’ve worked for weren’t like her.

  4. Biff, good point on both. I lurve Jewtopia. BTW, not sure if Cgar mentioned it but I was in Brownstoner HELL on my flight to LA. Half of the plane were Hasid and the other half were Hipsters (apparently Venice Beach is all hipsters riding bicycles). Thankfully on my flight back, half of the plane were Jets fans rocking jerseys coming from the game and rest was a mix of bunch of different people with half of the dancers from the upcoming season of Dancing with the Stars.

  5. cobble,

That’s some list of problems, are you saying there’s a more
    personal/emotional dimension to woman bosses?
I know from Ms.Legion’s experiences as a boss that this works both ways, she has had to deal with backstabbing, insubordination, undermining and pettiness from other women who worked for her, only a couple of times from men. Many times from other women.

lol. neither did half back in harlem who lived in the building i lived in apparently!

    *rob*

  7. Cobble, had very similar experience. One woman boss in my life and she was in her 40s and a single mother. Everytime she had a bf or got laid, she would be the nicest person ever. When she didn’t, she made my life and another guy’s in our department lives miserable. We were the only 2 men that reported to her and the rest were women (8). I was right out of college so I didn’t get it as bad but the other poor dude was in his 40s and she let him rip and he would take it, always for some non-sense. Having said that, I am convinced that there are great female bosses. I don’t report to any in my company but know that some totally rock and their direct reports are very happy with them.
