  1. Re: MA Senate.
Depends on how strong the candidates are relative to e/o. Republicans obvs won the Governorship several times when the Dems were divided or had crappy candidates. They have not won anything on the Congressional level for years & years though. Although I am a Republican, my money would be on the Dems holding on to that one.

  2. DH! I thought Jon Stewart’s riff on Giuliani going after ferrets was hysterical, especially the excerpts from his radio show when he’s railing against ferret owners and telling them – in his best Sylvester the Cat voice – that they need psychiatric help. I’d forgotten just how much he’d lost his mind by his second term (and I say that as someone who voted for him).

And, I read in the Times that NJ is legalizing marijuana. Time to open a dispensary across the river ya think???

  3. Lesbiman, agreed her work is nothing short of amazing. Her blending techniques was a great inspiration for me when I was once an artist. Of course those days are long gone. Narcissus has taken over while Goldman has gone to sleep.

You would love the museum in Santa Fe not to mention NM. You really see first hand how much the NM desert inspired her. If you ever go, drive down Turquoise trail.

    lesbiman,
I am intrigued by your references to Herman Hesse (Narcissus and Goldman), I used to post under Harry Haller here on brownstoner.

  4. ET, I remember our discussions on Spain. Place was a little to white for me, and partner would hate the too modern vibe…but we still would take it.

Check out Dibs link/place in Merida, that was special.^^^^^

  5. Leg- you lost me at “by Dick Morris.” You and Dick must not know Massachusetts very well.
But don’t sell Republicans short- even in their minority status, that have somehow held onto their bargaining power.
also Leg, re economics of the minibar, somewhere in the equation you have to factor in the return to the hotel- i.e, the vlaue of the increase in guest occupancy that it gains from offering the service, they might still gain even if guests self-restock. i don’t know. i would love to study economics if i were otherwise a lady of leisure.
