DIBS, there’s a ton more of us here now and most in my generation dont take shit from others like our parents did then. I’ll take my chances. besides, I’ll vote against him once I get my premo house at 80% off – ie so just got to survive 1 term
I liked Giuliani during his first term, and then I thought he lost his mind and got crazy with the power. Plus he really pissed me off when he tried to ban jaywalking.
Biff, we all had to pay some price for the job Giuliani did. Besides, it isn’t totally cleaned up and how many places do you really need on a Wednesday afternoon????
I think Boomie has done a lot of great things, but he lost me on two issues – the Crown Heights homeless intake center and term limits. The intake center is him at his most paternalistic and dictatorial, he just shoved it in our face, without a thought to the people of Brooklyn, or the homeless. He was only thinking of Manhattan and his cronies’ real estate and development plans. He is much too Manhattan-centric in general. Term limits – they were voted on twice and passed for a reason, the people wanted them. It was a very self serving, dictatorial and imperialistic thing to do. It is classic Emperor Bloomberg.
That said, Thompson is not my favorite for several reasons, and I don’t think he’s going to win, but he’s got my vote because not voting does not send a message, it just enables the status quo.
I’m not pissed at Bloomy, I’m more pissed at previous New Yorkers voting to make the system less democratic by telling you who you cannot vote for. Good job the previous New Yorkers didn’t vote for doing away with voting all together.
But seeing as I can’t vote, who cares what I think.

But m4l, they’ll be off 70% for the wrong reasons. Chinamen will again be targets. Don’t even think such thoughts.
Thompson for mayor.
given how many posters ont his blog say brownstones will be 70% or more off, I’ll vote for the dude

Yeah Rob, TRUE New Yawker knows that when something is too good to be true, it aint man. Only tourists fall for some of this stuff
But DIBS, how much could you really have liked Giuliani?
Didn’t he piss you off at all by cleaning up the seedier side of Times Square?
