On a related note, I ate at Saraghina last night and one of the things they had on their ever-changing menu was polpette!!!!!!
Not meatballs as we know them here but luscious small balls of beef, pork and maybe veal. Typically not served with pasta in Italy, Saraghina did serve them with tomato sauce for the American palette.
Today’s Throwback Thread of the Day is the first Forum Post from last year inviting Brownstoner fans to the First Annual End of The World (Or Maybe Not) Party.
A number of long-time, hardcore PLUSAs were involved in the discussion, which was just over a year ago.
Just a few of the things of note:
– I think this might have been Rob’s first post ever (10:43AM – it’s towards the bottom as he posted it the day after the thread was first put up). He basically introduces himself and didn’t yet include the patented *Rob*.
– Cobble’s Better Half aka Chad was referred to as “my 6’5″ body guard”
– DIBS was already longing for a throwback to the “hot son of the contractor who demolished the party wall who was sitting in the backhoe” thread. Not only that, but check out his post at 3:48PM!!!
– The What’s post at 2:47PM shows how tight he and I have always been.
