I just never want to see NYC go back to some namby pamby Democrat who’s going to be softer on crime and less diligent on spending ( meaning caving into the unions and other special interest groups).
I forget the poll number, but the vast majority of New Yorkers say they are pissed at Bloomberg for the term limits extension. They go on to say they’re going to vote for him for a 3rd term anyway.
Benson, I’m sure Mr. B. has been seen in both Costco and Ikea. Even people who hate the idea end up there eventually. I don’t go to Costco often, as I don’t have a car, but they do have some things that are a real bargain – Kirkland brands: cat food, clear and kitchen garbage bags, for example. At Christmas time, I will stock up on cookie and cake ingredients, cuz I can’t buy presents this year, and I always get a gallon jug of virgin olive oil that lasts quite a long time. Most of the rest of those mega size foods are not for me, it’s just too much, and I don’t have unlimited storage room, and it just doesn’t make sense. I do prefer the Costco out on Rockaway Blvd over the one on 3rd, but that’s too far to go most of the time.
I’ve liked a lot of what Bloomy has done (w/ some reservations) but what bothers me about his altering of term limits is that it’s similar to other autocratic dicta he has made. Thanks goodness, though, Rudy wasn’t able to make the same change.

Arkady, Rob agrees about the reservations:
“unfortunately that pan-faced chimp bloomberg has been cracking down on the indian tribes”

“You live in a tent.”
Actually, BJ, it’s a teepee.

No, Biffy! I really, really want to be an astronaut, though – closest I’ve gotten is Space Camp.
