  1. Food Insecure is the similar to being financially insecure. Sometimes they can provide food for themselves/family other times not. Leading to malnutrition.

“Furthermore, if you really want to get into it, their main metric seems to be income/poverty levels, and that just reinforces my point. Whenever the government measures income/poverty levels, they always do so WITHOUT including government aid, such as welfare, foodstamps, etc. This is a fact. Anyone doubt it, I invite them to prove me wrong.”

Actually they do quote those statistics. You can find it in the section headed: Use of Emergency Food Assistance and Federal Food Assistance Programs

“However, what I don’t appreciate is an appeal that suggests that if I don’t agree with the pitch, or think that there is a better way, well, then I’m heartless, or morally deficient.”

Your words not mine. Guilty conscience?

  2. “I just locked the doors to the deck . . . I thought I put the neighbors kitty out before …but she was in her spot”

Cobble, you’ve turned me into Fred Flintstone out here on the deck, banging on the door to the house!! (“Some day, maybe Fred will win the fight. Then that cat will stay out for the night . . . “)

  3. I just locked the doors to the deck, so unless he tries to squeeze in next to the air conditioner, I think I’m safe!

On a similar note, I thought I put the neighbors kitty out before I left today…but she was in her spot when I walked in this evening!!…very Twilight Zone….

  4. “Why oh why do entertainers feel the need to personalize a perfectly wonderful song.”

DeLepp, I totally agree with you. There are also those who don’t change the words but re-interpret to an extreme – Roseanne and the National Anthem anyone?
