Legion, nothing to do with conservative views. Nationalizing healthcare will drive this country into the shitter and I for one, will not like that. I left a communist country for a reason and don’t want it back. That’s how shit starts. You nationalize healthcare, what’s next, nationalize other competitive fields? Fuck the land of opportunity, reward laziness.

If someone wants national healthcare and is still bitching, go live in Russia or any country that provides that. People love to bitch and moan but not do anything about it.

I am sick of this nonsense already. You people live in the greatest country in the world, have greatest luxuries in the world and bitch and moan. M4L and myself understand that wholeheartedly. If you had something to compare to, you would praise U.S. real fast once you see that 95% of the world living is not as peachy as here.

Now, I better be nominated for next years Best Rant awards!!!!

Glad you clarified, and I wouldn’t presume to speak for you. We’ve disagreed on many things but I do like your posts. Not sure how bx and montrose keep you from posting freely. Bx can get a bit excitable, as can you, hence your shared award, but you did return after the exchange you cite to engage thoughtfully with her today. I am not saying you have any obligation to be here or to put up with anything you don’t like. But I think you overstate the case about “thread monitors.” I may be wrong, but I don’t recall anyone telling you you are not entitle to have, or express, your point of view.

Fwiw, yesterday I posted a recommendation for “The Big Sort” by Bill Bishop. He talks about a lot of the social factors that have lead to increasing polarization, left and right, over the last 30 years. Among other things, he talks about how, after we have all sorted ourselves by residence and various activities and associations into increasingly like-minded communities (again, both left and right), we tend — and there is lots of psych. and sociological research on this — both to move towards the extremes and come to perceive the otehr group as more extreme than it is. I am afraid that communication by computer — email, blogs, etc. further amplifies this trend. I am not at all singling you, or conservatives on this site in general, for this. I do bemoan how often these discussions deteriorate into mere sparring and namecalling.

Well, truth be told, I think everyone, including me, is probably stunned that anyone did suggest it, but I love you just the same. The only similarity is the salt and pepper hair (more salt than pepper on the sides according to previously referenced barber). And yes, thank goodness you stopped by!
