  1. The wonderful thing about blogs Benson is that if you disagree with the person who writes the blog you can call them out, as you and What both do with regularity. But I can understand your desire for a break. I go up and down with this feeling, not because of Mr B’s editorial take but because of the trolls and the investment that some folks have in shitting on other people. I find this tiresome and frustrating.

I hope you come back cause you have a unique take on things and are valued for that.

  2. I heart THL!!!

THL, looking forward to the director’s cut tonight of RHONJ.

Benson, last time I checked, I don’t think a single PLUSA that I met was born with a trust fund and a silver spoon in their mouth. I might be wrong but not a single one struck me as such. You have noooooooo idea what’s growing up tough is. Trying growing up a jew in communist Russia than get back to me. You wouldn’t get into a good college period, even if you were the smartest one in the whole town. Instead ,you would be forced to serve in the army, and be beatin everyday by non-jews until you learn to defend yourself agaist at least 5. Yes, we’re talking about modern day, including 90s.

P.S. I think the fedora hat or barsalino or whatever that is is pretentious and makes people look like they are better than someone else anyways. Here is some NYC hate for ya azz.

  3. I don’t get this, benson, to be honest. And I come from a similar background. There’s an anti-development bias in NYC, it’s all around you. DDDB and so on. It’s part of living in a left-leaning city. It also stands to reason that people who buy brownstones don’t like new construction. You made your choice, you bought in new construction, that’s great. Some people would rather live in old construction and restore it accordingly. That, after all, is how this blog got started.

As to Mr. B’s background, seems a bit unfair to speculate unless you know better. In any event, it’s unlikely he’s making millions off the blog. He pays a mortgage like most of us. And, his anti-development bias, if you were, attracts like-minded people. Altho strangely enuf his biggest advertisers seems to be developers. So they’re not bothered.

Like the What, there are many things I miss about the old New York, about growing up in the 70s. Still, change is inevitable. I’m a New Yorker and I will never leave.

Anyway maybe I’ll see you around.

  4. -(the feeling’s mutual ghetto)

-“no, sometimes i say weird things to people, bxgrl. nothing bad, but maybe off the cuff type stuff.”

You do that here Rob and we love you (for) in spite of it.

-Enjoy your break BRG. We just wanted to know you were o.k.
