On the same block as yesterday’s supersized makeover and the now-infamous Tile House sits another facelifted architectural wonder some in the neighborhood have taken to calling the Goth House, perhaps because of the Gothic-style iron work, the castle-like brick work and, yes, the dragons affixed to the facade. You can’t make this stuff up! Update: Denton just sent in a photo he had lying around of the Goth House on Halloween. It’s posted on the jump. GMAP

  1. Brownstoner is like a Rorshach blot – an amorphous stimulus onto which we project our ideas & opinions: some obsessive & off-topic & some cogent. Mr. B’s great strength is in presenting a wide range of topics for us to address even when our responses have nothing to do w/ what’s presented.

  2. > I look forward to what DitmasSnark has to say about this.

    You rang?

I’d add some crenelations to the top and a gargoyle or two to kick it up a notch, but hell yes, I’d live here.

PS: Can we please stop saying “benson” and panties” in the same sentence? It’s putting me off my lunch.

  3. “I’m like GW Bush. I take the battle to the opponent’s home turf!!”

Yes- and we see how well that worked out. You don’t bring the battle, you create the battle. Like ENY says, take a day off from self-righteousness. Make that a year.

  4. Late to the party…

Like I posted on the tile house “Rock-on freaky reno dude!”

Simply awesome and why I love (most) of the diversity of the neighborhood.

benson, you need to take a day off from self righteousness (and I should know, since I have been accused the same…by you, in fact).

    MM, spot on.

And Denton is right, the holiday decor is great…and perhaps how the castle got started.
