Freaky Friday: Greenwood Goth
On the same block as yesterday’s supersized makeover and the now-infamous Tile House sits another facelifted architectural wonder some in the neighborhood have taken to calling the Goth House, perhaps because of the Gothic-style iron work, the castle-like brick work and, yes, the dragons affixed to the facade. houes looks nice and it’s a big improvement vs before.
Park Slope> Ah…. the slings and arrows…er, catapults of fortune. 🙂
[GULP!]
I too like it….it’s a heck better than the before.
The reno could have been a lot worse.
Thankfully, they didn’t use that ugly light colored brick or light beige colored windows.
now if only the other houses will follow this homeowner’s lead.
Who needs a lap pool when you could have a moat? The piranhas would work better than a “no menus” sign. The catapult idea could work as long as it would point only in the direction of Park Slope.
LOL, I like it too.
I think the windows on the to could have been a bit longer also. But yes, I have to check the box yes, I do like it.
mcKenzie- where are you gonna find arches who work for minimum wage? And the fancy-schmancy outfits cost money 😉
A less expensive alternative would be one of those flaming rock catapults. You wouldn’t need so many, less personnel and in a year or two would pay for iteelf. You might also need to stock the moat.
I can’t believe I’m writing this, BUT I sort of like this house, more, at least, than the previous vinyl-sided version, with it’s 1920’s roof line that, no doubt, replaced the original cornice.
Would I have preferred wooden clapboard or novelty siding and a replaced corniced? Sure, but this has a certain charm and, after all, it’s not in an historic district.
I like the idea of the dragon lamp. The top is too bare. it needs those castle thingies where archers can aim through.
Boy between all of us we could make this into something really special 😉
MM, as jessi pointed out, his panties are in a bunch. Sadly, they are also cast in cement. Cement doesn’t take tie-dye well, jess 😉
