Crumbs Bakery Opens Today
We stopped by the grand opening this morning of Crumb’s Bakery at 109 Montague Street, an event that the Brooklyn Heights Blog has been covering with breathless anticipation. Although it wasn’t exactly hopping this morning, it is a little early for a cupcake. If anyone stops in today, lets us know how it is! GMAP

I am an official Cupcake junkie so I feel confident weighing in on this:
I think it’s GREAT that BK FINALLY has a place like this that will serve deliciously consistently made cupcakes LATE!
I have complained more times than not here and everywhere how absurd it is that BK never had a Magnolias, Billys, Crumbs or Sugar Sweet Sunshine type bakery that stays late till like 12 serving good ol AMERICAN desserts like cupcakes, icebox cake etc etc
and please NO ONE argue with me on this one b/c I have tried all the ridiculous cupcakes many of these cafes&bakeries serve around here and they are never as good as the above mentioned are! I do love Baked in Red Hook but their cupcakes are not as good as Crumbs
banal but rich -just like the cupcakes!
Crumbs is exactly the sort of banal business I would expect to open in such a banal neighborhood.
Never mind. Muffin Top is already taken.

“Muffin Top”
OMG, That’s a great name for a bakery!
Wish someone would use it.
Can’t believe the NYT said the cupcake craze is dead. Cupcakes these days are not just for kids. They are a wonderful, narcissistic indulgence, with a little retro flavor to boot. For a couple of bucks, you pick out your own beautiful tiny cake, you never have to share, and everyone gets the flavor they want. What could be better? (other than the giant cookie…)
This will cut into Lassen & Hennig’s black and white cookie market.

I swear this year every single woman in Park Slope is pregnant.
uhh.. im pretty sure that isnt the case. most of them just let themselves go when they snagged a nerdy husband.
someone should open up a shop called Muffin Top. that WOULD do quite well in park slope. they could sell not only muffins, but unflattering overpriced clothing.
