On Wednesday night, The Brooklyner, the new 490-unit rental tower at 111 Lawrence Street in Downtown Brooklyn, held its official launch party (despite now being 60% rented and having tenants in place already). The event gave us a chance to drink in the views from the 51st-floor roof terrace of what is now Brooklyn’s tallest building. Pretty stunning!

I agree, some of the layouts aren’t the best but they CRUSH those in Avalon in my opinion.
I live on the G line… check out the floorplan on their website. I went from a converted loft with ~750 sq. ft. to this building (with 75 sq. ft. less) and the new apt. feels SO much bigger. The corner floor to ceiling windows help too (in the bedroom). The hallways are wide and it’s not a complete box of a layout.

Really? I’d think a left nut would be a lot more useful than an granite rectangle in the middle of your living room floor.
I would give my left nut for an island kitchen.

I don’t like being outside on the 51st floor. But that’s just me. I get vertigo on our roofdeck, and it’s only five floors up. That being said, I would have no hate for this building if they had foregone the dreaded island kitchen.

Hi, I live in this building. Us residents, who pay thousands each month to live here, have still not even been allowed to see the roof. And there is no date, yet announced, in terms of when we will be allowed up there.
wasn’t the launch, that was last year, was party to celebrate completion of roof space, for the folks who developed, designed, built and financed the building
size – there is a larger public space on 4th floor too
with two Skeeball games inside!!!
