On Wednesday night, The Brooklyner, the new 490-unit rental tower at 111 Lawrence Street in Downtown Brooklyn, held its official launch party (despite now being 60% rented and having tenants in place already). The event gave us a chance to drink in the views from the 51st-floor roof terrace of what is now Brooklyn’s tallest building. Pretty stunning!

  1. island kitkchens are sometimes ok.
having those bar stools/seating on one side of them is not. sitting on one of the bar stools at kitchen island and reading the paper or laptop/eating breakfast should be punishable by death.

  2. Thanks for the props peoples.

I love having an open kitchen (no island tho) – I would feel like too much of a slave when I had people over for dinner with a seperate kitchen: Slaving away in an undoubtedly windowless room making organic quinoa for my friends who are in the living room drinking beer and having fun.

  3. I need the island to prepare the meal to lure the men to even get some use out of the nuts. I’m thinking one might be enough at this point cause daddy’s counter space is TINY!!! ;))
