Williamsburg’s The Bedford hit the market recently at 205 North 8th Street. This is a fairly small building that only features nine “loft-like” studios and one-bedrooms, and they’re not going for cheap: A 420-square-foot studio is priced at $400,000, according to StreetEasy, while one-bedrooms range from $450,000 up to $625,000. The development is boasting a laundry room, elevator, and roof deck, plus a one-block proximity to the Bedford L. GMAP

  1. I saw this bldg over the weekend and had a positive feeling. For one, the building is only one block from the L train and Bedford Ave which is super convenient. I went to see the studio lofts which are almost 500 sq ft with large balconies facing North 8th but will probably make an offer on a one br which I think is about 800 sq ft. It has a large balcony and is not much more than the studio. I liked the high ceilings and the wood floors which the agent said were teak. To me the apartment felt warm and cozy.

  2. i looked at this building this weekend, it seems very nice from the inside. It is btw roebling and drigg, which is great for me going to the subway everyday. The waterfall seemed to be very interesting. I overall liked this building.

  4. This from a friend of mine who stalks site, but doesn’t sign up:

“this thing looks like a bauhaus dunkin donuts- and then theres the inverted “hula skirt” out front complete with your very own “stoned waterfall”! a total travesty”

  5. The BEDFORD is between Driggs & Roebling?!? Just confirms that whoever built this piece of shit has absolutely no imagination. But no wonder they are marketing Bedford Avenue – this area is a disaster and will be for another 5 to 10 years (sorry, Wine Lover). Industrial wasteland with questionable environmental pedigree and a raft of stalled construction sites.

  6. this is a tiny nothing building. would be fine for rentals. 80 met is very nice, and if you can buy there vs. a lot of other places, do it.

this is a good location though – it’s between driggs and roebling? i think? not bedford and driggs, so quiet and convenient to driggs entrance to the L. close to mccarren and walking distance to everything which is why i think it makes it an easy sell as a rental.

  7. You can rent a bigger, nicer studio in a nicer building in a better location for a lot less than the 2,500 bucks a month it would run you to buy this (not to mention the 80k downpayment)

I don’t even think the studios in The Edge are this expensive.

  8. ugly exterior. this “loft style” stuff really bugs me. it’s not a loft! it’s a smallish apartment building with minimalist (minimal) interior details.
