There was some talk of this Park Slope rental on Thursday’s Rental of the Day, and we think this “Gilded Age mansion” mostly speaks for itself. Intricate, dark wood details throughout, a pretty incredible looking (six-foot wide!) stairway, even stained glass in the kitchen and bathroom windows. Most apartments don’t come like this one. This 7,000-square-foot four bedroom at 108 8th Avenue is going for $18,000 a month.

  1. Maly,

I’d think this would be a place where someone who’s having a house renovated nearby would reside for a while.

Perhaps the family who bought 276 Berkeley place for 3.9 million needs a place to put up their feet as their house gets an overhaul.

    Or something to that effect.

  2. It is completely amazing, but… (there’s always a but) you can rent a triplex in a townhouse off Park Avenue for this price. As incredible as this apartment is, location, location, location. I don’t know if there are many transient millionaires with a hankering to live in Park Slope. Doesn’t the CEO tribe prefer the Upper East Side?

  3. OMG, this absolutely out of control. I’ve never seen a rental this over the top.

I’m not really up on the market for $18,000 a month rentals, but it seems to me that you can’t get much more lavish than this.
