RE Greed Reaches New Level in Cobble Hill

Most New Yorkers are pretty used to tales of landlords evicting tenants in the pursuit of profit maximization. But even the most hardened free-marketeer must have raised his eyebrows at yesterday’s report of two elederly sisters being kicked out of the Cobble Hill townhouse where they grew up by their nephew, Joseph DeLeonibus. Adding another layer of intrigue was the listing for the Cheever Place property on Corcoran: “House is being offered for $999,999, without seeing it, without inspecting it, must close in 30 days, must be all cash and must take tenants in place.” Sounds a little desperate to us. There must be more to the story.
Hit the Bricks, Granny! [NY Daily News]
Anna died because she gave up. There was a constant struggle between her and her sister Katherine. Katherine always made her cry. She was fine and had all her marbles up till the day she died. The family went to the hospital the day she died, Joseph, Grace and their two children. What was going on at the house was most important. Katherine’s daughter Marie was robbing what she could carry out of the house. She was known for that.
March 26, 2005 – Long Island College Hospital. I wasn’t there, but I’d like to know if Anna was in any shape to sign a deed on March 25th.
The print on Tenant.net got it all wrong Anna DeLeonibus died on March 26, 2005. I know I was there.
His mother did not leave him the house. When his father died, his mother wanted the house under his name because Katherine Carmarda thought it should be left to her and her children. Ask the neighbors.Anna DeLeonibus wanted Katherine Carmarda out of the house because she always started trouble and would make her cry.
Tenant.com has it all wrong. Anna DeLeonibus died on March 26, 2005
Just because they are elderly doesn’t mean that they deserve to stay. This old bittys are particularly mean opportunists. You don’t expect it because they look sweet and harmless.
I know lenny visconti for 31 years and he is a bum. when his brother died in 1988 (may he rip he was a good man) lenny went to JOSEPH and asked him for money so he can buy a suit and the way that Joseph is he gave him the money.
I got married 3 years ago and lenny and jean visconti where at my wedding. His MOMMY had to give him money to put in the envelope $200.00 BUT it never made it in the envelope it went up his nose.
not one person in that house pays joseph any rent. he pays the mortgage, gas, electricty, water… I heard it costs Joseph about $5,500.00 a month to have them live there and they have lived there for over 3 years rent free(lenny tells his mother he pays her rent with the welfare check, but really uses it and her food stamp card for drugs, alcohol and smokes)……
Good for them for tyring to do something instead of trying to blame two elderly women.
One wonders about the Do-Gooders at Tenant.net — from the link above:
lofter1’s curbed link has 3 links on it: one is a forum on the Brownstoner (a Brooklyn newspaper) with lots of ugly posts from people too lazy to use Google or other search engines or search local papers before posting ugly opinions about the sisters (mostly) and their nephew/LL. Three from 8:07pm to 9:11pm, 11/15, sound like one poster w/ax to grind… or related to LL?
