  1. I don’t understand 11217’s problem. If Benson & I can have a civil drink together (& Benson bought the libations!) then surely any lion on here can lie down w/ any lamb!

Do people get in such brou-ha-has over who doesn’t like broccoli? Taste can’t be disputed.

  2. so, Dave, do you think FD is going public because growth in customer base has stopped and owners want to cash out?

BTW, we took little tour of CrownHTs, BedStuy saturday. Took bus up Dean, walked around then up Nostrand to BedStuy..had a little snack at T-Cup…walked on quite a few of the historic district blocks and took train home from Utica.

  3. Mr. B, I don’t think there’s any need to have to explain it further. It’s YOUR website and if people don’t like it, they can leave. Props to you for getting another big sponsor. No issues at all with it from where I sit.

  4. And as a couple of you have correctly surmised, this is not an ad slot that where we plan to rotate through a bunch of random brands. We thought FD was a uniquely good fit for it, and that it would be a fun partner to experiment with an ad format that was more contextual and neighborhood-specific than your average banner ad. Anyway, we have to run to an appointment now but will check back in on the discussion later. If there is truly widespread opposition to the concept of a non-real estate brand sponsoring a post we’ll have to take it seriously, but frankly we can’t see what the big deal is, especially when it’s a generally well-regarded brand with a strong presence in the borough…later

  5. “at which point the 5 or 6 comments that had already gone up made no contextual sense, so we removed them”

get in a habit of removing comments that don’t make sense contextually and you won’t have much left here. 🙂
