  1. > We are a nation of laws and should never leave that high ground.

Yes, thank you Wasder. And on that note, I’m done with with my off-topic shenanigans. We now return you to you regularly scheduled program.

  2. wasder,
you are right, we should always attempt to stick to our moral and ethical standards, but with a close eye towards protecting our security.
in the 1993 trial, the lawyer, an American, was convicted of aiding and abetting our enemies abroad by forwarding information to his associates. those individuals had a right as legal residents.
this time around, these men were captured abroad, not US residents or citizens or what not. They are being brought to the US court system and extended rights of US citizens. What kind of example does it set to the rest of the world that we are bending over backwards to accomodate confessed enemies of our nation?
Lack of resolve, in my opinion.

  3. >>Meanwhile, BHO, we would need four more 16-month stretches like the last 16 months for Case-Schiller to hit half off. You are really in it for the long haul, aren’t you?

slopefarm, and you claim not to be a perma-bull?? you are just like DIBS and antidope!

  4. Yeah legion, why didn’t W come into office and say “let’s clean up Clinton’s mess. These balanced budgets and rising wages are killing the country. We need to balloon a new decicit and start an unnecessary war in the middle east to get this country back on track. Oh, and for good measure, I’ll ignore dire intelligence warnings about terrorist activity. That will really set us on the right path.” Yeah, W is by far the better man because he didn’t blame the mess he inherited on Clinton. Whatever Clinton did wrong with respect to the financial industry and the housing market, W had 6 years to fix before it blew up. Would look pretty stupid blaming a second term event on his predecessor.
