If you’re going to ask $1,325,000 these days for a house in Bed Stuy, it better be pretty darn spectacular. This new listing at 371 Greene Avenue, while perfectly nice, is a far cry from spectacular, though. The entry hall still retains its original charm, but the rest of it, judging from the limited number of photos, appears to have suffered from having been subdivided into three units. What do you think is a more realistic price?

  1. The one next door to Babs’ sold for $1.35; Babs paid $1.15 MM I believe. I didn’t think it was true either but someone pointed that price out to me about a month ago and I looked it up. Maybe $1.31 or so.

  2. WOW I missed the Jersey Love fest today. We got another defector to Hudson Co!! M4L I wouldn’t call JC souless, you just got to know where to go. It’s an older scene with less frat boys but I do like going out to Hoboken on Sat afternoon and walking down Washington.
Hoboken is just too congested downtown, uptown is nice where you are and there are some real nice townhouses uptown. I still like JC better but to each is own.
The women in Hoboken are better looking though 🙂

  3. It is a nice block, and it’s close to a totally yuppified part of Clinton Hill, a bunch of converted loft buildings in the northeast part (Taafe Pl. and such, northeast of Pratt). But that’s a LOT of money!

It will be interesting to see what winds up happening with all the new construction on the block west of here (a huge building and another big one, shorter, between Classon and Franklin) plus the finished Scarano and Scarano-like bldgs on Franklin. If they wind up doing well, then this whole area, right up to the Tiny Cup on Bedford, will be its own little neighborhood.
