House of the Day: 105 St. Marks Avenue
For a house that is described in the listing as “flawless and gracious,” 105 St. Marks Avenue could do with some more photos. (Update: When we wrote this up on Friday there were only four small photos. They’ve got a lot more up now!) Sure, the three interior shots provided look nice, but for all…

For a house that is described in the listing as “flawless and gracious,” 105 St. Marks Avenue could do with some more photos. (Update: When we wrote this up on Friday there were only four small photos. They’ve got a lot more up now!) Sure, the three interior shots provided look nice, but for all we know the rest of the house could be a warren of small rooms with dropped ceilings and recessed lighting! Seriously though, show us your stuff, especially when you are asking $2,500,000 for a house in Prospect Heights, a bold move in this market. We’re not saying this couldn’t be a $2,500,000 house, but we need a little more convincing.

bxgrl, nyet!
Montrose’s former house in Bed-Stuy was the same style- not quite as fancy though- the bedroom had that little nook too. I loved the place- it wasn’t redone like this one though. I do like this (CGar- please?!) but it is priced high.
“denton, you might be confusing a lack of self-respect and taking oneself too seriously tho. for example some people might say this house lacks self-respect, whereas smoe would say it totally takes itself way too seriously.” (rob)
Nice. (NOT sarcastic!)
Minard — I was actually wondering if they waxed the floors in the early years of these houses and how lustrous they liked them. But isn’t there a different feel from a lustrous waxed floor and a shiny polyurethaned one?
Eh, this is at least in part a matter of taste, of course. And I do think you make a good point about sometimes more is more if it’s done right.
“and if youre going to sling a weak insult me, dont bother, ive heard it all before. focus on the HOTD, not my obvious immaturity.
*rob*”
No insults, weak or strong! This made me laugh which is going some today cause I have an 101 fever. Don’t breath near my posts.
denton, you might be confusing a lack of self-respect and taking oneself too seriously tho. for example some people might say this house lacks self-respect, whereas smoe would say it totally takes itself way too seriously. i mean 2.5 million dollars for this? wtf? okay fine then, i will start respecting myself and claim i am worth 500 gazillion dollars, but at the end of the day, we ALL know that isnt true no matter how much we tell ourselves that.
this got totally way too philosophical hahahah.
on that note from now on i will try post with more ‘self-respect’ whatever the heck that means
*rob*
“im not a moron, and ive been thru a hell of a lot of life experiences that some people who trash talk could ever dare go thru.”
You’re right rob, and you deserve credit for that. The problem is that those same life experiences did not teach you to respect yourself. That is why I break your balls because you have no self-respect, and you should develop some.
I say that having had some similar experiences.
the apt i live in now has track lighting in the kitchen, living room, foyer, gallery, and stairs to downstairs. it kinda sorta works and it’s nice to switch it up and down depending on mood. im more of a ceramic pink light bulb kind of guy, but whatever i think the lighting is better than just some random light fixture in the middle of a ceiling.

lots of chandelier talk.. how does one non lol whenever they see one tho? those SNL faux commercials for chandeliers and mawble columbs are hysterical and so spot on hahah. and they must be a b-tch to clean, no?

I agree with Pigeon, except for a certain kind of track lighting. Pigeon, I like the really tiny, very unobtrusive track lighting, sometimes I’ve even seen it hidden, that is used to light certain dark areas, or special artwork. The big old bulky style track lighting, no.
