House of the Day: 615 3rd Street
Hot house! This 4,552-square-hoot brick and limestone two-family is certainly one of the grandest to hit the market so far this year. Built by an architect for himself in 1899, the house’s kitchens and bathrooms have been updated recently. We can’t find a single thing to complain about, from the park-block location to period details…

We can’t find a single thing to complain about, from the park-block location to period details to scale of the rooms. Gorgeous. We’ll see if the price tag flies though: They’re asking $3,800,000 for a place that traded for $2,850,000 in mid-2006. Doable?

I agree. DK has done it again. Her women’s suits were beautiful.
I’m over Diesel.
Donna karen was good too – Diesel was hilarious today i heard – depression era chic, with canes and bowling hats.
Not a fan, dh.
But the Jason Wu show was terrific. I also really liked Carolina Herrera and Carlos Campos this year.
Marc Jacobs is a disaster. In all senses of the word.
“RinTinTin…gay men have impeccable taste, until they start drinking.”
Then whats Marc Jacobs’ problem?
Sorry for the off topic fashion week stuff – but did anyone see that crap last night? Nuts.
ghastly by even my bad straightman standards.
‘what you gonna do wit all dat ghast, all dat ghast inside dat home?’
(not sure why the blackeyedpeas are on my mind today)
> “gay men have impeccable taste”
There are exceptions, of course. Siegfried and Roy leap to mind.
RinTinTin…gay men have impeccable taste, until they start drinking. This decor is ghastly by any standards. That said, all it needs is plaster & paint.
The dector is definitely ghastly. Of course, the website could be a little better. And what are you saying, DIBS? We gay men have very good taste and are therefore able to judge when taste is bad or we gay men tend to have dreadful taste, therefore your description of this as dreadful means that it’s WAY bad? 😉 Just kidding…anyway
This isn’t nearly as nice as the 2/13 open house on Eighth Avenue (which is no longer on the Corcoran website–does that mean it’s gone–what a beauty it was–do you remember that incredible staircase). That house was also reduced to $2,195,000. Don’t know what the square footage was. Maybe this is larger, but I doubt by much.
Maybe Norah Jones is looking for a guest house.
the pink hallway is very Liberace, or maybe Dame Edna, but
It’s nothing that two layers of primer, a skim coat, and three layers of paint wouldn’t hide.
