House of the Day: 615 3rd Street
Hot house! This 4,552-square-hoot brick and limestone two-family is certainly one of the grandest to hit the market so far this year. Built by an architect for himself in 1899, the house’s kitchens and bathrooms have been updated recently. We can’t find a single thing to complain about, from the park-block location to period details to scale of the rooms. Gorgeous. We’ll see if the price tag flies though: They’re asking $3,800,000 for a place that traded for $2,850,000 in mid-2006. Doable?

I’m with DIBS, the decor is ghastly.
Chaste and sober finishes, I mean. Nothing shiny.
Let me clarify. In my own home, I prefer hippie-intellectual decrepitude and original kitchens and bathrooms. But this is beautifully done. Possibly the most beautifully executed interior design on Brownstoner yet. Must be a tragic divorce.
I really like the house on the right in the photo. That one looks like a gracious beauty.
There are some fine details in this house. Too bad it’s all painted over. I’d have to strip the paint at least on the parlor floor. The decor is a bit much, but when it’s yours, the rooms will be empty. Then the fun begins.
Floors are gorgeous, too.
This house is gorgeous. The interior designer appears to be Jamie Drake. The rug in the girl’s room is from the Rug Company. And that room looks familiar, like I’ve seen it in a home dec magazine. Montrose?
Woah, can’t type today. Plz excuse errors.
Rookie, that’s was an open house pick about 6 months ago. Besides which, it’s MINE! (if only!) This is my dream home.
@sender999
ehh – Not bad, but I need a little room to stretch out. An owner’s triplex is nice, no doubt, but how about this monster:

7000 square feet across from the Brooklyn Children’s Museum? Who’s in?
Liberace’s Brooklyn home.
Wow, 2 celeb home sin one day!
