This week, a look back at four of our featured listings from six months ago focuses on homes in Flatbush, Dyker Heights, Windsor Terrace and Park Slope. How did they fare?
First in Flatbush, an attractive two-bedroom co-op has plenty of space, a recently updated kitchen and bathroom, and original details. Examples of the latter are fanciful arches, a built-in niche with shelves, high ceilings and wood floors with inset borders. The spacious layout includes a roomy foyer that could serve as a large entry hall, dining room, office or library. This former Co-op of the Day entered contract in November.
In Dyker Heights, this circa 1937 house boasts a garage and period flavor. The Tudor-style row house has an arched and pointed entrance and rustic clinker brick facade. The interior retains its charming arched doorways, wood floors and plaster walls. It appears to be in move-in condition, with recently updated bathrooms and kitchen. This former Open House Pick was taken off the market in January.
In Windsor Terrace, an early 20th century brick row house offers a fair amount of surviving detail for a three-family dwelling, with mantels, fretwork, a pier mirror and original stair. It also has a location just a short stroll from Prospect Park. The house is set up with a floor-through apartment on the garden level and each of the upper floors. This former House of the Day sold in November for $2.615 million, which was $35,000 under the asking price.
Finally, in the Park Slope Historic District this 1880s Neo-Grec has original details such as plasterwork, mantels and unpainted woodwork along with a recent architect-designed renovation. The two-family with a Delson or Sherman-designed interior has a surplus of living space with a garden-level apartment below a four-story owner’s unit. The brownstone has walls of glass on the parlor and garden levels, a top floor terrace and a roof deck. This former Open House Pick sold in December for $6.85 million, which was $100,000 over the asking price.
