Brooklyn Real Estate Six Months Later: One Sold, One Off the Market, Two Still Available

This week, a look back at four of our featured listings from six months ago focuses on homes in Midwood, Park Slope, Cobble Hill and Flatbush. How did they fare?

In a 1930s building in Flatbush, this apartment has a fair amount of space and the practical layout expected from a building of this vintage. It also comes with a renovated kitchen and bath. It has a substantial foyer, long enough to act as a study or a gallery with a picture rail handy for art hanging. The living room and kitchen are at one end while the bedroom is at the other, near the entrance. This former Co-op of the Day is still available with a new broker at $659,000, a price cut of $91,000.

In Midwood, this early 20th century two-family has an unexpected amount of period detail on the interior, including Arts and Crafts mantels and dining rooms in the popular style of the era, with coffered ceilings, wainscoting and plate shelves intact. Located at 1014 East 14th Street, the stucco home also includes off-street parking. This former House of the Day was taken off the market this month.

In the Park Slope Historic District, a single-family brownstone is rich with original woodwork, pocket doors, shutters and carved wood mantels with tile. The four-story house also has exposed brick, wall-through air conditioning, modern radiators high up on the walls, and a dining platform and raised wood-burning fireplace in the garden floor’s large eat-in kitchen. A petite kitchenette on the top floor has two electric burners. This former Open House Pick is still available.

This 1840s row house in the Cobble Hill Historic District was thoroughly redesigned since it was last on the market, transforming the former four-family into a spacious single-family home with an open plan parlor level, aged oak floors and a sleek new kitchen. The exterior of 479 Henry Street got some attention as well, with an LPC-approved reno. This former House of the Day sold in January for 7.4 million, which was $100,000 under the asking price.
