In Midwood, this early 20th century two-family has an unexpected amount of period detail on the interior, including Arts and Crafts mantels and dining rooms in the popular style of the era with coffered ceilings, wainscoting and plate shelves intact. Located at 1014 East 14th Street, the stucco home also includes off-street parking.

Built as a two-family, the house looks much as it did at the time of the circa 1940 historic tax photo with an arched entry for each unit and minimal adornment. Simple diamonds ornament the arches and while the windows in between the two front doors are now single pane they are still topped by the original bracketed faux roof.

Set up with a three-bedroom apartment on the ground floor and a four-bedroom duplex above, it looks like the interior details have not altered significantly since it was featured as an Open House Pick back in 2016. While the listing description is decidedly brief there are quite a few photos and a video tour of the duplex.

Both units have wood floors with inlaid borders, living rooms with fireplaces (that were in working order at the time of the 2016 listing) and dining rooms with bay windows and the aforementioned original details. While the ground floor unit has a small sitting room at the front, the upper apartment has a sunroom stretching across the full width, bringing some extra light into the interior.

The kitchens both sport a bit of old and new, with the old including original built-ins.
