I’ve always found the naked brick sides of brownstones like this to be quite ugly and wondered why no one bothered to at the least put some covering on them (to match the front of the house), if not put windows. Good for her, I hope she starts a trend. Just because something has always been one way doesn’t mean it should stay that way forever!

saw Lily Taylor and her child and hubbie on Clinton the other day… she most famous from Six Feet Under. Great talent….
she should just make 1 huge condo-like window in the side with a giant steel beam in the middle to hold the place up.
also cobble hill is where people like norah jones go when they retire.

I think her plan is for 7 windows, scaled down from the original 10. The cherry picker was back in the neighbors’ yard this morning and they’re still chipping away more window openings. I have to say that the new windows (in the front too) look very nice.
