Solar Panels on Non-Landmarked Townhouse

Hi I am an architect I did a house in Riverdale with solar panels recently. It is costly but you have to research the tax incentives, this can save you a significant percentage of the cost. Aside from that you have to do the math to see what you spend each year on electricity and then see what the system costs. I think solar is cheaper than paying the electric bill. Any solar company can do a free analysis and tell you how much you should expect to save and what the system will cost.

Has anyone done a renovation and opted for or researched putting solar panels on the roof? Was considering it but was told that install can be very costly and adds additional time in getting permits.

A group called Solarize Brooklyn ran some community seminars a year or so ago, offering volume discounts to homeowners in Kensington, Flatbush and Windsor Terrace.
