Self closing doors in 2 family?

Hello everyone, Can anyone clarify whether or not an owner-occupied 2 family brownstone requires a self closing door? Did not see anything in the archives. Thanks.

I rented in several 2 fams and none had a door closer. I think this happens when the building is registered as a multi fam with the city and I am not sure if that happens at 3 or 4 family. I know there is a trigger there as I work on doors in houses and I know that the multi family dwellings of a certain number of units have closers. Steve

I live in my 2 family brownstone in bed-stuy and I don’t have a self closing door. Nor do any of the other 2 family houses on my block (as far as I can tell). So I think you’re fine.
