Roof Asbestos Abatement

Hi, we’re looking for someone to remove asbestos from our roof in the areas that will be affected by our building a bulkhead and installing a skylight. Does anyone have an recommendations? The bids we have received so far seem quite high.

Hello Wiley I called emsl and they said I could bring a sample of my roof in for inspection to see if there is asbestos in it. My question to you is : If they say there is no asbestos in the roof material can i go ahead and have it removed legally? I thought I would have to have a certified inspector take samples. I have a brownstone with many layers of roof and would like to have it torn off and a new roof installed but don’t want to pay the asbestos abatement cost if I don’t have to.thanks, ruben redrube@gmail.com

are you sure there is asbestos? I recently went through a process where some folks said I had it, others said I did not. I pursued my own test with emsl in manhattan and turns out the material did not contain asbestos. The $90 it cost me saved a lot of money.
