How can I get rid of old hardwood floors?

I am in Brooklyn and am planning to self-install new hardwood flooring. I am wondering if anyone has experience with companies that will come and salvage a good hardwood floor, or if they know ballpark what it would cost to have a professional hauling company come take it away. I assume for the latter we just need to get it to the curb? Is there a dump we could haul it to ourselves? It’s about 900 sf of what I think is oak, installed in 2005. Thanks!

Try BUILD IT GREEN. They have programs to demo and haul away for resale. And they give you a receipt for tax write off.

Better off to Call a company to haul it, and may even demo it for you. You’ll save yourself so much time and aggravation .
