Crack on vertical waste/stack line - who to call?

Ballpark is tough because a Stack Line is inside the wall; meaning your home set up has a lot to do it with it.
Is there molding that has to be removed?
Is it behind a cabinet or anything built in?
What are the floor pass throughs inside the wall?
Just make sure to get the estimate on paper and clearly defined. We see a lot of people start this work and get hit with a “Change Order” pretty fast!

I’m seeking recomendations on a Plumber that will replace the stack line in my 2 family home. We opened a small portion of the wall and can see the cracks. Has anyone done this work done and can provide a recomendation for a Plumber? What is a ball park estimate for this job?

Around 2012 or so, we replaced the vertical waste/stack line in our two-family (from the cellar to the garden, parlor, and top floor — four connections). If memory serves, it was $12,000 for the plumbing work. At the same time, we also added a fresh air vent from the cellar to outside the front of the house, and IIRC that was a separate line item (not sure). We got quotes from three plumbers, and selected a small family-run business that has done a lot of this kind of work. (I can’t recommend firms because I work for Brownstoner.) We didn’t have to do too much with opening or closing walls because our plumbing is mostly exposed or runs in wood chases. We did have to replace the skylight through which our stack vents — roofers did that part.

I used John Hlad Plumbing for a combo of vertical and horizontal pipe (18 ft total – only up to the top of the first floor). They did a nice job. The work can be messy; you need access through the walls. Best to replace as much as you can all at once.
