Convert Oil Boiler to Natural Gas System or Dual Fuel System? Who to call?

Hi Ldbetta, I live in Williamsburg. I had my conversion from oil to gas done by Sam Ganic who was referred to me by a friend. Sam was an amazing plumber and was true to his word and was very reasonable on price. The process was relatively simple and took a few days. You just need a good plumber. I did a conversion in my brownstone house this past winter and I used Parkset Plumbing. They got the permit, handled the boiler and oil tank removal and installed the new gas boiler. They even filled out the paperwork so I got a rebate from National Grid. I found them through Brownstoner and I’m happy I used them.

For what it’s worth, very few good plumbers know very much about boilers and heating. They are two skill sets that got confused for each other a bunch of years ago for some reason. Make sure you pick a plumber with a reputation for heating. Steam and hot water are drastically different from each other and have very little to do with traditional domestic “plumbing”.

I second the suggestion for Gateway…John is a little pricey, but his work is some of the best in NYC
