Convert Oil Boiler to Natural Gas System or Dual Fuel System? Who to call?

I live in a self managed 8-unit co-op building in upper Manhattan. This is a five floor walk-up building with two small commercials small spaces on the ground level. We are looking to convert to a natural gas or dual fuel heading system this summer. Who should we call?

Sam was an amazing plumber and was true to his word and was very reasonable on price. The process was relatively simple and took a few days. I’ve used Petri Plumbing for my last few repairs and emergencies. I don’t know if they’re the right guys for this job, but they’re professional and they guarantee their work.

For what it’s worth, very few good plumbers know very much about boilers and heating. They are two skill sets that got confused for each other a bunch of years ago for some reason. Make sure you pick a plumber with a reputation for heating. Steam and hot water are drastically different from each other and have very little to do with traditional domestic “plumbing”.

You just need a good plumber. I did a conversion in my brownstone house this past winter and I used Parkset Plumbing. They got the permit, handled the boiler and oil tank removal and installed the new gas boiler. They even filled out the paperwork so I got a rebate from National Grid. I found them through Brownstoner and I’m happy I used them.
