We won a judgment against a NJ contractor who took our deposit for a bathroom reno, but never did any work. First two attorneys working on the collection effort haven’t done much. Any recommendations for a good attorney who can get the job done on a contigency basis?

Who is the judgment against, and how much is it for?  Judgments aginst small-time residential home improvement contractors are hardly worth the effort to collect, and I’m not surprised in the least that your first two attorneys haven’t put much effort into collecting.  It’s more than likely a waste of time and money.

Have you reported the contractor to the NJAG?  Is the company still doing business?
