Update: The 713 Deli has actually been closed for a while so maybe the folks opening the new place at 707 Fulton are actually business geniuses and it’s our commentary that’s superfluous!
Wicked Pissah Dood. I was bahn a little more west just outside Wustah.
But I lost my accent (actively retrained myself) because I moved to Vermont in 6th grade and the kids and teachers didn’t know what i was saying. 🙁
My family is full of awesome accents. From my businessman brother than got rid of his Masshole accent, but developed the “intrusive R” like John Kerry or anyone like that… ideaR and so on. And my oldest sister who still sounds like she should be chain smoking her Newpahts and drinking Tab. And everything in between.
I might be mistaken but I think that deli is shuttered cause it is out of business. It has been closed for quite a while and hasn’t been open when I drive by at different times of the day.
and we’ve always said grindah and packie
wait wait wait– i was born and raised and came of age in Mass, and we’ve always said sprinkles. Western Mass represent.
If you are from New England, they are called jimmies and that’s that. tybur you forgot about getting a grindah on your way to the pack
^^^ you sound like you’re from 128 cooridor
What about those knuckleheads who wear Red Sox hats in Park Slope? Are they called Sprinkles or Jimmies?
Yeah Dood, I’m bahn and raised in New England… and they’re called jimmies. Sayin’ anythin’ else is wicked kwee-ah. By the way, I just got a drink from the bubblah and it tasted like ass… I’m goin’ to get a frappe and pick up somethin’ from the packie.
quote:
I don’t play numbers, but I sometimes play Lotto, and from overhearing players and cashiers, I don’t think numbers cost as much as Lotto tickets, hence a long string of numbers for only a couple of dollars
Just box or just straight for regular numbers (you know the ones where you pick 3 or 4 numbers) is 50 cents. Straight & Box is a dollar per number. most people play straight and box.
and please explain this to me?
“And let’s not go there anyway, as it won’t be pretty.”
and the money is like taxes, because lotto money goes to education and other things.
