Associated took over the two storefronts next door, the old Beso restaurant space and the late, lamented Donuts coffee shop, for its expansion. A new awning was being installed on the building yesterday morning.

We should do that-I’ll ask Jon to forward mine to you (heaven forfend Legion should get hold of it!!) er…you aren’t Legion is disguise are you? 🙂 Well, if you are, I should tell you the truth- I’m really the What. Yes, I know… who would have thought it?
So is the melodramatic barrista like a caffeinated soup nazi? Don’t you love how Macs are now a trend too? Love the ads from mac- the pc guy looks like a pudgy Bill Gates too.
And did you read the 3:17 post from Brooklynnative on the Red nabes lose thread? I totally agree and I’m sure I’ll get hooted off after they read my post. But it was just too tempting not to.
Good thinking bxgrl, we may need a contingency plan in case this disappears. We seem to have managed to sneak away without a trace, but who knows? There’s probably some wannabe vindictive b@stard reading this (Legion perhaps?) waiting until we say something particularly juicy that he can throw back at us in a current thread. It wouldn’t surprise me. I’ve had faded typers try to troll me using things I’ve said way in the past. Like when I posted an email address with Jerri in it – even though there’s nothing to hide, trolls keep trying to throw it back at me thinking it’ll scare me for some bizarre reason. Speaking of which, maybe we should create and exchange a couple of emails for the contingency planning! At least it would be easier than meeting back here. 🙂
Anyway, posting seems refreshingly problem-free today.
I can check out Firefox at home, but I don’t use my computer often at home and I can’t get away from IE7 at work. My friends with Macs absolutely love them and say they would never go back. I haven’t yet taken that plunge. I got a laugh the other weekend when I went to check out Gorilla Coffee on 5th Ave in PS. It was everything I imagined from reading here. The melodramatic barrista muttering under his breath at customers whose orders he himself screwed up and no less than 7 hipsters typing away on their portable Macs! It was amusing…
wow- I just posted and there was no wait time at all! He must have got so many complaints. How’s yours working?
I think it seems like Mr. B may have fixed the problem for the new posts because I’m not having a problem with the new ones from today. If in fact someone was manually checking posts (how neanderthal!) for bad words on only some threads then we may have to find a more updated room once those get archived because they may freeze posts on this one. B’stoner could really use a good webmaster who knows how to do this stuff. MM has the same problem with posts sometimes not showing up- he/she said that the other day.
Mr. Legion hasn’t really been playing. 🙁 I think too many people ganged up on him and called him a republican shill 🙂
He loved the Riaquis thing- I guess he thought he was going to make himself look good on that one.
So are you going to check out firefox? You can uninstall it if you don’t like it but I don’t think I’ll ever go back to IE. And if I can ever get a mac, it’s out the window iwth windows. Too bloated, too messy.
I also said a bunch of stuff about IE7, but anyway…any luck Legion-hunting? That guy (I assume all faded type jerks are guys) is such a jerk, but I have to admit to laughing at his threat to put lapel pins on us!
Hey, I replied awhile back but just checked and don’t see it here. Something about hating Dr. Phil too – the overweight, soon-to-be-divorced “celeb” who self-righteously tells everyone else how to get in shape and improve their marriages.
Maybe it’s that time of day when posts get losts and pages freeze…although the other threads seem ok…
Ewwwwww…… I hate Dr. Phil. Can we say smarmy?
Try Mozilla- I haven’t had any trouble with it, it’s open source and gives you all kinds of things IE7 won’t do for another 10 years and it still looks and feels like IE so there’s no learning curve. Got tabs, much more control over how it runs and a little add on called iris that lets you peek ahead to other pages without opening them or having to nevigate off the one you’re on. A much cleaner program (oh G-d!!!!!!!!!!!I sound so anal geeky- how can you ever forgive me??!)
Now I am off to hunt Legion- he’s threatening to put lapel pins on all of us .
That’s the one to which I suspected you were referring but wasn’t certain.
Are you saying you can now spell and/or grammar check your posts (without copying them into Word or some other similar program)? Whoa, that’s a geeky anal blog poster’s wet dream!
It’s been a couple of years since I took Psychology 101 (just a couple), so not sure what the kids are learning these days. I would have to think his theories are so intelligent and relevant that they would have to still be teaching them.
Forget Spock (and you so beat me to the Star Trek reference)! I think Dr. Phil and Oprah are the voice for the majority of people on how to live one’s life – SCARY!
My favorite was the one about the 3 day old wedding balloons. I had to sit down I laughed so hard.
I know! I know!- I kept thinking Biff is going to jump on this and -gentle sobbing here- you didn’t come to save us…sniff…
I wouldn’t worry about the rambling- if I were of the caliber of a Shakespeare, or a Steinbeck I could afford to be a literary snob. Unfortunately and sadly, far from the case. But I have found a huge help in my Mozilla browser (IE7 just would not work), finally switched to Firefox and the lovely thing comes with a spell checker!
Do they still teach Piaget? Or does everyone still think Spock is the last voice on child everything (and who I think should have been kicked back to Vulcan to live long and prosper and not raise children). I could be wrong but it was like Piaget was a poet and Spock wrote for the Post, and people still confused them.
