StreetLevel: Pizza and Maybe Banh Mi for 5th Ave
The two storefronts next to Willie’s Dawgs on 5th Avenue between 5th and 6th streets are about to be home to a couple new businesses. According to a sign that’s gone up, one will be a new pizza place called Prego’s. Contractors working on the store say it’s supposed to open very soon. More exciting:…

Jester, try Bogota on 5th.
“I would like a South American restaurant, like Colombian or something”
You mean like Bogota Latin Bistro, one of the better restaurants in the ‘hood…? 😉

EW! not appetising in the slightest!
*rob*
Except they called the pork sandwich “overwrought.” They recently switched to a round bun if I’m not mistaken.
I would like a South American restaurant, like Colombian or something. I don’t go out to eat all that often though. A steakhouse would be good too.

I agree 100%. That would be a perfect locale for a steakhouse.
Although I love a good steak, I’m not sure if such a place would be popular in PS.
FSRG recommended the ribeye steak in Convivium – I have to try that. Come to think of it, that’s where I’ll go tomorrow with my wife before I take off (I’m going on a business trip to Japan).
Update:
Snarky, low key gathering in Sycamore next week. Stay tuned for email update from CGar. Snappy planning to join.
I’m still loving The Vanderbilt. It’s been really crowded though the past couple times. I suggest a weeknight, unless you want to wait at least an hour. Nice drinks and bar area though, so waiting is really just fine.
Also, Bark Hot Dogs just received a rave review in the New Yorker this week:

I would love a place to get authentic pho. We got C-town just to get some.
Yea Viet and steak would get my vote. Although, I’m sure I would get gout between if Fish Camp and a steak house are next to each other..
Benson:
Someone should open a great steakhouse on the corner of 7th Avenue and 3rd Street where Miracle Grill is closing.
Large space, terrific outdoor area, perfect location for a good steakhouse. It would do well, in my opinion…
