Milk Bar, the new breakfast place on Vanderbilt and Prospect, opened yesterday. The menu has yummy-sounding stuff like “poached eggs on a ham, gruyere cheese and tomato toastie” (half order=$7/full order=$11), scrambled eggs on brioche ($7), pastries, and various sandwiches. Hours of operation run from 7:30 a.m. most days (9 on weekends) through early evening.

  1. I went along with my wife in the late morning for brunch.

The ambiance is great, they have a nice menu and the staff are friendly.

The food is very good too. But for the price the portions are a little small.

  2. actually, a little earlier on the wkends would be sweet, too (for those of us with the alarm clocks also known as toddlers), but are you really going to sit down and eat a $10 scambled egg sandwich at 6:00 am on the way to work? i mean, regularly? coffee, sure, but maybe it’s not worth the cost for them to be open that early just to sell a few coffees…

  3. Seee – it’s a Bfast place and should operate as such. Who cares about eating a scrambled egg sandwich at 5pm?

This sooo makes me wanna open up my little hole in the wall diner/bfast spot as I am one that eats Bfast early as well!
