StreetLevel: Vanderbilt's Milk Bar Now Open
Milk Bar, the new breakfast place on Vanderbilt and Prospect, opened yesterday. The menu has yummy-sounding stuff like “poached eggs on a ham, gruyere cheese and tomato toastie” (half order=$7/full order=$11), scrambled eggs on brioche ($7), pastries, and various sandwiches. Hours of operation run from 7:30 a.m. most days (9 on weekends) through early evening….

Tanner you’re absolutely right about the BLT with egg. One of the greatest sandwiches ever. The best I know of is at Hope and Anchor in Red Hook. Fantastic.
you have obviously never tried it, tiptoe! good bread, great bacon, a real tomato, fresh lettuce, and a perfectly over-easy egg… it breaks and drips after the first bite. seriously YUM. and perfect breakfast, lunch, or dinner.
No, Tanner, the fried egg would ruin a completely perfect BLT. I would vote for a BLT with roasted turkey though.
put a slammin’ BLT w/ a fried egg on the menu and i will be there breakfast, lunch, and dinner! seriously, why does no one have that on their menu?? wouldn’t you all eat one??
They should be open 24 hours a day and have really good food for a dollar. I’d go four times a day then.
Well, i_disagree, they should also have weekday specials! Earlier hours and a $6 complete breakfast. I’d go regularly.
I make breakfast for dinner at least once a week.
No idea why it’s a “yuck” because you eat it at 7pm instead of 7am.
Often I eat poached eggs for dinner with ww english muffin
am such a hypocrite!
“Yeah, an egg sandwich for dinner sounds YUM.”
sorry, but that’s a big YUCK.
